Mauritius' botanical gardens, Botanique de Pamplemousses, are known to naturalists throughout the world for their countless species of indigenous and exotic plants. The Coloured Earth of Chamarel is an oddity, with its seven-coloured dunes, the result of weathering of volcanic rocks. The Bird Garden of Casela hosts approximately 140 varieties of birds from around the world. Ile aux Cerfs is a sheltered beach and lagoon for water sports or sunbathing, here you will find restaurants and several souvenir stalls. Domaine les Pailles, a nature park, stretches over 3,000 acres at the foot of the Moka mountain range. Vanilla Crocodile and Tortoise Park has luscious tropical flora including a variety of endemic and exotic plants. In these lush green surroundings, more than a thousand Nile crocodiles are bred.
Shopping
The market in Port-Louis is famous for its tablecloths and fabrics, basket-work and a wealth of spices. Port-Louis also hosts colourful Indian and Chinese boutiques offering household articles and a wide variety of export-quality T-shirts at bargain prices. Local island craft includes jewellery, Chinese and Indian jade, silk, basketry and pottery shells, bracelets, necklaces, and pagnes. There is no duty payable on a number of products, including textiles.
Dinning
The standard of cuisine, whether French, Creole, Indian, Chinese or English, is generally very high in Mauritius. Specialties include venison (in season), camaron (freshwater prawn) in hot sauces, octopus, Creole fish, fresh pineapple with chilli sauce, rice with curry and dholl purri (a wheat pancake stuffed with dholl and dipped in tomato sauce). Samosas are also very popular. Rum and beer are staple beverages for Mauritians but there is also a range of imported wine, mineral water, alouda and fresh coconut milk on offer.City

Day 1: Arrive Mauritius

Day 2: City tour of Port Louis; Visit Pamplemousses Gardens
After a buffet breakfast, its time to leave for a half-day tour of Port Louis, the capital city of Mauritius. We visit the harbour, sheltered in a
semi-circle of mountains, the Natural History Museum - famous for some very rare birds now extinct like the Dodo, the National bird of
Mauritius. See La Citadelle, a stone fortress situated at the top of a hill. Next, we take you to Port Louis market where you can shop
at the local stalls and duty free shops. Evening dinner at the Hotel. Overnight in Mauritius.
Day 3: Visit Chamarel & Grand Bassin
After a buffet breakfast, we take you on a full day tour of Chamarel and Grand Bassin. A winding road leads from Case Noyale village to the
coloured earths of Chamarel: an undulating landscape of different and contrasting shades of colours. The different shades of blue, green, red
and yellow are apparently the result of the erosion of the volcanic ash. The neighbouring waterfalls of Chamarel rise from the moors
and the native plant life. The site possesses a rare beauty. Evening dinner at the Hotel. Overnight in Mauritius.
Day 4: Ile-aux-Cerfs. Optional Undersea Walk
After a buffet breakfast, we proceed to Ile-aux-Cerfs, a beautiful resort on a Robinson Crusoe-like island. It is also called as, Mini Eden of
Mauritius as it is famous for its sandy beaches which attract a large number of people. Ile aux Cerfs is a paradise for water sports and has the
most beautiful beach in Mauritius. Get mesmerized by the picturesque beauty of miles of fine white beaches and crystal clear waters.
Relax on the beach, go swimming and enjoy the many water sports(at an additional cost). Enjoy optional Undersea Walk, where you get an
opportunity to walk on the sea bed in perfect safety and feed the fish with your hand!! As you walk around and explore the fascinating
environment, you can take photographs on the sea. Evening dinner at the Hotel. Overnight in Mauritius.
Day 5: Depart Mauritius / Extend your Holiday
After breakfast, complete your packing, check out of the hotel and set off to Mauritius airport for your onward journey or flight back home.
