Windermere
Originally named Birthwaite, the town of Windermere is now an extension of Bowness-on-Windermere, just a short distance uphill from the shores of Lake Windermere, which has the distinction of being England’s largest natural lake. Three miles north-west of Windermere is the Lake District National Park Visitor Centre at Brockhole, a beautiful lakeside mansion, set in award winning landscaped grounds with superb views.
Edinburgh

Visit the 15th century Rosslyn Chapel near the village of Roslin in the Midlothian region. This ornately carved church was fortified by the Sinclair barons of Roslin, Cousland and Pentland, although the present ruins are of a slightly later date.
