Italy

Midnight waters, strewn with stars. Bustling bazaars that yield up the occasional treasure. Placid lakes, edged with century-old pines on towering cliff tops. Architecture that has witnessed the rise and fall of civilisations. Italy has centuries of history and beauty to offer. From the watchful mystery of Venice’s serene canals to the awe inspiring loveliness of the Sistine Chapel or the Colosseum, Italy is every traveller’s dream destination.

City Information

Rome

The sheer excess of beauty here can prove overwhelming to the unsuspecting visitor. Roman columns soar up beside medieval basilicas, the tinkling of water fountains fills the air at Renaissance palaces, colour and aroma fills the multi-coloured markets and the winding cobbled streets. Rome is also one of the world's fashion capitals, and its cuisine and shopping are amongst the most popular in the world.

Florence

The city rises from the breathtakingly beautiful landscape of Tuscany like a living piece of history. Even the simplest street or building is a work of art, embodying the classical beauty that defined the Renaissance. Everywhere you turn you will see works by Michelangelo, Donatello and other artists of Italy’s Golden Age. It is undoubtedly in the museums and galleries that most of Florence's charms are concentrated. But Florence is also a city of today - the piazzas are full of fashionable boutiques and fashionable people and the café is still central to Florentine social life.

Venice

It captures the imagination more powerfully than any other city in Europe. Its fabled canalled thoroughfares and gilded palaces possess a beauty unsurpassed anywhere on earth. Grandiose buildings in fabulous colours lean at crazy angles over dark water. In Venice, light and water combine to create a restless magic. All borderlines are eradicated somewhere between dream and reality. Here, priceless art is commonplace and the bland is the exception.

Milan

Business capital to some, fashion paradise to the rest. This city’s architectural beauty is perhaps unsurpassed in all of Italy. Set in the mid-western plains of Lombardy, this is the city that dictates style and fashion to the rest of the world. While here, immerse yourself in the rich history and culture that is an inherent part of Milan.

Lake Como

Half an hour from Milan, this is possibly both the most beautiful and the most peaceful place in Italy. Perfect for those who want to get away from the bustle of the city.
