This is the second largest city
in Australia and enjoys a scenic location, at the
head of Port Phillip Bay. Melbourne is widely
regarded as Australia’s cultural capital.
The city’s features include Victorian-era
architecture, extensive shopping, museums,
galleries and theatres, and several parks and
gardens. Many tourists visit Melbourne in
order to attend major sporting events, or to
use it as a base for exploring the surrounding
regions such as Grampians National Park, The
Great Ocean Road, and to visit Phillip Island to
view the penguin parade.
Set on one of the world’s most
stunning harbours, this is Australia’s oldest
and biggest city. Sydney, with its sense of style,
its love of sport and exuberant celebrations fits
the role of Australia’s global city. Consistently
voted the world’s best city by international
travellers, Sydney has everything you would
expect of a world class holiday destination -
internationally acclaimed art performances,
stylish restaurants, an effervescent night scene,
chic shopping, unique architecture and a
vibrant beach culture.
This city serves as the gateway to North Queensland and is the perfect base from which to explore the Great Barrier Reef, the Wet Tropics and Riversleigh Fossil Fields. Whether it’s an indulgent break or an adventure you’re looking for, this region offers an unforgettable experience. There is something here for every visitor to enjoy: adventure activities like diving, whitewater rafting and bungee jumping or more gentle pursuits like bird watching, hiking or sampling the fare at the restaurants.
